Listening Friendship
Many of us speak to Jesus often in prayer. We may bring Him our needs, worries, and daily requests. Yet friendship depends on a two-way conversation of speaking and listening. Our grows when we also become still enough to listen to the Holy Spirit.
Centering Prayer is a meditative practice of quieting the mind, opening the heart, and listening for the direction of Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
The best time to find your mind quiet, is right after we wake up, right before we fall off to sleep, or while sleeping. Job 33:14-16
We believe the Holy Spirit may guide us through thoughts, visions, inner conviction, and callings placed upon our hearts. Listening helps us know Jesus, obey Him, and serve in His Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.
The Daily Practice
Choose a quiet place where you can sit without interruption.
Release distractions and gently clear your mind.
Become still and listen for the Holy Spirit's guidance.
Ask, “Jesus, how may I serve You this day?”
An Open Invitation
The Holy Spirit is already present. The invitation is simply to set aside time each day, become quiet, listen, and respond with a willing heart.
